Hey, thanks for remembering to come back and comment! I can see what you mean -- the magical realism of the ending was a little disjunctive from the pretty intense real realism of the rest of the film -- though I enjoyed that part. Maybe that's just because I was more comfortable with it; I'm used to seeing that kind of trippy storytelling in film, whereas I'm really not used to seeing so much graphic sex, so I felt like I was back on familiar ground. I definitely need to watch it again, though, and see how it all flows as a piece, when I'm not so distracted by "wow, the actors are really doing THAT?"
