I think the problem with watching DS out of order is that it's like eating your favorite dessert first, and then having to eat your vegetables. Nothing can be slashier than season 3, and Ray V just isn't as drop dead gorgeous as CKR (though I personally think he has amazingly beautiful eyes). On the other hand, the Fraser characterization is, I think, more interesting--and I forget whether Victoria is season 1 or 2, but that's one of the strongest arcs of the series. I also really love Thatcher in season 2--she and Fraser have this amazing vibe, and the episode about the mounties and horses on the train is just about my favorite hour of television ever.
