Gacked from
astolat: When you see this, post a little weensy excerpt from as many random works-in-progress as you can find lying around. Who knows? Maybe inspiration will burst forth and do something, um, inspiration-y.
These are all SV, shockingly enough. Some of them might actually get finished someday.
1. All My Little Words - from the 69 Love Songs project (and a sequel to the first two I ever wrote):
Then there’s a weird week in which someone who apparently looks exactly like him robs the Smallville Bank. Lex’s first shock of outrage has faded into annoyance by the time the tabloids pick up the story, but flares into mortification when he discovers Clark’s name on the witness list. Fuck, he saw me rob a bank? he thinks to himself, and knowing that he is in fact innocent is only a small comfort against the notion of Clark believing he’s guilty.

2. Washington, D.C. - Also from 69 Love Songs:
Staring out the window of the LexCorp jet, Clark practically thrummed with excitement.
Lex sighed. “It’s not like you haven’t seen it before, Clark.”
“It looks so pretty when it’s all lit up.”
"In fact, you were here three days ago, if I’m not mistaken.”
“Yeah, but it’s hard to enjoy the scenery when some nut has hidden explosives all over it.” The plane banked to the left and Clark craned his neck for a better view of the Mall. Lex turned a page of the memo he was reading and tried to hold back another sigh; he’d never understand why Clark always went for the windows when he could just as easily look through the wall.

3. Lana Lang: Five Futures (started last fall, when she'd just gotten involved with Lex):
Two years after marrying Lex – and five years after she’d told Clark never to come near her again – she knocks on Clark’s door one evening while Lex is in Tokyo. She’s pregnant; she’s terrified of how Lex would raise a child; she wants to get away. She needs Clark’s help and only asks because she’s desperate.
***
4. the Red Necklace AU:
Clark could never explain why he was so mean to Lana; he didn’t want to be, but no matter how often he swore that he’d leave her alone, it was like he felt this magnetic pull towards her. If she was anywhere around him, he wanted to be near her in spite of his dread of what he might do. She was so pretty, so perfect, with her shiny dark hair and her shining dark eyes and that glittering red necklace she always wore. He wanted to get closer, wanted to touch her, and he couldn’t stop himself. It just felt so frighteningly good.

5. Meaningless - yet another of the 69 Love Songs:
“Lex, you’re getting married!” Clark can’t believe it. He never imagined Lex would develop such an attachment to Helen. It’s not that he’s jealous, emphatically not, but he just doesn’t trust her. “I don’t even know what to say.”
“Congratulations are traditional,” Lex comments with a quirked smile. “But I suppose I can understand—”
“Congratulations.” Clark hopes he doesn’t sound as sullen as he feels. He gets out of the bed, understanding now that Lex had intended this as a farewell fuck, and starts looking around for his clothes.
“Thank you.” Lex gazes at him evenly. “Clark, what you and I have been doing—”
“Forget it,” Clark says, stepping into his jeans. “Hey, it didn’t mean anything, right?” He pulls his shirt over his head and looks through the fabric in time to see Lex flinch.

And if I'm ever going to finish any of these WIPs, it's almost certain to be the last one.
