my nephew, Kal-El
Feb. 21st, 2007 05:25 pmI am back from vacation, and slowly settling into being home. I'm not going to try to catch up with all the LJ entries of the last week, as it's just too much, so if you've posted anything noteworthy, please let me know.
Meanwhile, while I was away my sister -- who knows nothing about my SV fixation -- told me something I've been dying to share with you guys.
Not long ago, her 4-year-old son said, "Mom, you know how I'm getting to be more like Superman these days?"
She couldn't exactly say no. So she said, "Uh, sure. You're getting to be a lot more like Superman." (After all, he's getting bigger, so in that sense he is moving in a Superman-esque direction.)
"I think you should start calling me Kal-El," he went on.
And now that is the only name he'll answer to. It's been going on for a couple weeks. If someone calls him by his actual name, he will very impatiently remind them that he is Kal-El.
This amuses me in many more ways than I could explain to my family.
