1) I have signed up for ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
yuletide this year. Which was possibly foolish of me, but I'm going to assume that it'll be fun. If nothing else, stretching to write in a fandom I'm not used to ought to be interesting. I think I offered 8 fandoms, only one of which I've dabbled in previously. The people who offer dozens upon dozens blow my mind.
2) I saw last night's SV! Like, on TV and everything! The night that it aired! This is entirely thanks to the generosity of![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
kassrachel, who was even game enough to sit through it with me while I tried to explain who these people were and what was going on. Of course, it was quite late in the evening by the time we watched it, and I'd had a couple glasses of wine, so my mind was not what I'd call razor-sharp. But ( cutting for spoilers... )
3) Also last night, Kass and I ran into an old friend of ours, a guy who was my dearest friend and practically the center of my world when I was 18. We gradually drifted apart in the years after that, and I hadn't seen him or been in touch with him at all in more than 9 years. He's now a theatrical designer -- in every possible sense of "theatrical" -- and talking to him, I was struck by how it's like talking to a blend of the guy I used to know and Darren Nichols (link goes to YouTube, so may be NSFW). He kind of always had the Darren Nichols thing going on, to some degree, but now it's, er, blossomed. It was very, very hard to keep from giggling once I figured out who he was reminding me of.
4) I was away from home and computer-less for much of this week, and on Monday I'm leaving for a two-week trip during which I shall also be computer-less. Hence my absence from all sorts of nifty and/or wanky fandom things. Le sigh. I'll be more communicative in November, I swear.
