Dear Yuletide writer,

First of all, thank you in advance. This is the first time I've participated in Yuletide, and the idea that somebody out there is writing a story just for me is incredibly cool. I can't wait to see what you've come up with. I've hardly ever seen *any* fic in my requested fandoms, so this is a tremendously exciting thing for me, and I'm fairly certain to love whatever you've done. I'm psyched just thinking about it.

I want to give you a heads-up: I'm going to be traveling, with no computer access, through December 27. So as much as I wish I could read your story at the first possible moment, I won't be able to see it until 12/27 at the earliest (and that's assuming I don't get stuck in an airport somewhere, which always seems to happen to me). Please don't think my lack of response in the first few days indicates anything other than simple absence. Happily, I should definitely be back by the time authors are revealed, so I won't miss my chance to thank you directly. I just won't be around for the first few days of squee.
