Yuletide yummies
Dec. 26th, 2011 03:20 pmHave I mentioned that I adore Yuletide? I adore Yuletide. This year I received not one but TWO fabulous stories, both in Friday Night Lights fandom. If you've seen the show, I expect you'll love these. I surely did.
Somewhere Different Now catches up with Lyla after the series ends, taking a look at how her experiences in Dillon, both good and bad, continue to shape her life. It's beautifully written, and lovely and wistful, and made me tear up a little (but in a happy way).
Making It Together is set several years post-series, and begins with a wedding invitation. It gives us glimpses of possibly the entire early-seasons cast, is utterly happy-making, and for extra credit it includes Tim Riggins's Facebook page. It just made me all smiley, and still does upon re-reading.
