somewhere I have never travelled...
Mar. 5th, 2008 11:10 am(See what I did there? With the SV fic reference?)
Tomorrow I am getting on a plane and going to California, to go to Escapade.
I still can't quite believe I'm going. I'm going to a CON, y'all. Me. The shy one. The one who lurked in SV fandom for months and months before starting an LJ; who refused to admit any interest in writing fic for nearly a year, until I accidentally wrote some; who used to be deathly afraid of any crossover between my fandom identity and my real life.
And this weekend, I'm going to finally meet (and share a hotel room with)
norwich36! Which I really could not be more psyched about. Nora made me my very first LJ icon, way back when. Her month of clex recs, back in February 2006, turned my interest in SV fic from a flirtation to a serious addiction. She's been my fandom guru, pointing me towards the best stories and resources for not just SV, but also BtVS, and HP, and DS, and now (I've been promised), SPN. And I'm going to get to hang out with her for 3 days!
Plus, you know, I'M GOING TO A CON. With many, many other fangirls. I'm even co-leading a panel on The Costs of Heroism, where we'll talk about SV and Buffy and Angel and Firefly and Heroes and Harry Potter and LoTR and whatever else people feel like bringing up. Me! At a con! The mind boggles.
I have no idea what to pack.
