I finally saw "Labyrinth" and "Crimson" yesterday. I thought "Crimson" was terrific -- laugh-out-loud funny, and clexily exciting, and sweet and sad, all in turn. Leaving aside the question of why kryptonite apparently affected Lois, I was impressed; every major story arc got moved forward. Lex and Mr. Duck were adorable enough to make me want to see them 'shipped. Clark running away from Lois had me guffawing. The Chloe/Jimmy plotline was beautifully played, and the clexana was awesomely creepy. It was surprisingly cathartic to see Clark finally spilling some of what he's been dying to say all season, and though I continue to be sorry that he never actually gets to have sex (Oliver's apartment is evidently where nookie goes to die), I really like the way they're handling the clois.

"Labryinth" was a big disappointment; I could point to specific reasons why, but mostly it just came down to bad, bad writing. It annoyed me as I watched it, but it did at least inspire today's vignette, which has me once again playing with the theme, The Night You Can't Remember.

Note: this is an AU scene for "Labyrinth" (SV 6.12) and probably won't make much sense if you haven't seen the episode.

Clark storms into Lex’s office to find him seated at his desk. “Surprised to see me?”

“Clark!” Lex rises from his chair and strides across the room, greeting him with a long, wet kiss and shocking Clark senseless.

“Bu… Wha…” He’s trying to talk around Lex’s tongue, which is doing truly acrobatic things in his mouth. Finally Clark pushes him away. “Lex, what the hell?”

“Clark, it’s okay. I haven’t told anyone our secret. God, I’ve missed you so much.” Lex pulls him into another kiss, sliding a hand around to squeeze his ass, and Clark is confused enough that for a second or two he finds himself kissing back. Until he remembers why he’s there.

“Stop that!” He wrenches himself out of Lex’s arms, and takes several steps back. “You’re messing with my mind. I know you locked me away and stole my powers!”

Lex looks at him sadly. “Clark. The only power you’ve ever had is making me come three times inside an hour. It’s not something I’d try to take away from you.”

Clark’s jaw drops to somewhere near the floor. He blinks several times in succession. “What?”

“If you remember,” Lex adds, “I have some super-powers of my own. Remember that night in my garage?” He chuckles, gliding nearer to Clark, who is blushing more fiercely than should be possible given the amount of blood that’s rushing to his groin. “Some of my cars still have the stains on the upholstery. Makes me hot just thinking about it.” Clark is frozen in place, which allows Lex to press himself against him and flick his tongue into Clark’s ear. Clark bites back a whimper.

“I know we don’t have much time, Clark,” Lex murmurs. “They’ll find you here sooner or later. What do you say we make the most of the time we have? I don’t know when we’ll get another chance.”

Clark can’t do anything but breathe, as Lex slides down to his knees and runs his hands along the front of Clark’s pants. When he feels how hard Clark is, he smiles. “Want to see if we can break our old record?”

In my version, the only way Clark would have caused Lex to crash his car was if he'd been giving him a blowjob while they drove. In which case, Clark would have been hurt too. So clearly, there was never any crash.

It says quite a bit about this show, really, that we've seen Clark be struck dumb with shock/embarrassment/repressed lust so many times in the face of other people's sexuality.
